Phases of the Moon is a ballad for jazz ensemble written for the culminating performance of the 2015 Summer at Cornish Jazz Theory, Arranging, and Composition course taught by Wayne Horvitz. The ensemble consists of alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone, two trumpets, tenor and bass trombone, and a rhythm section. The live performance recording on this page was made at the concert at Cornish College of the Arts by an ensemble of both student and professional musicians.
